Wine, Whiskey, and Whispers
I like Wine. I like Whiskey. I love Whispers. Simple enough to get me in the door.
The Dallas scene works one of two ways: you either run into people constantly or you see them once and never again. I have been fortunate to cross paths with Alexandria Traylor on multiple occasions in our various social circles. Being familiar with her brand Baes N Bombshells I was eager to learn more about her new project, The Glow Print.
We were instructed to wear our finest satin robes and join the ladies in a private location. Alex and her partner Daisah promised that we would be doing everything but whispering, but there would be plenty of wine and whiskey to make up for it. We were left not knowing what to expect other than an intimate setting of people that may not know one another.
The group was comprised of influencers, entrepreneurs, and creatives of various backgrounds. Each lady offering something different, we were all tied by a common thread...the urge to see other women Glow up. Alex and Daisah were correct when they said whispering would not be happening.
We all found ourselves organically having conversations without much guidance. The photo booth was a great touch to add extra ways to socialize. At the moment we heard from each person their projects and current goals, it was another example of the existence of Black Girl Magic. Each girlfriend named several things they had done and amazing things they were planning to do next. Without any hesitation, resources, advice, and blessings were offered.
As much of a social person as I am, at the time I received the invitation I didn't know what I had just gotten myself into. As the days crept closer I could feel myself retreating into my introvert ways to want to stay home. Looking back had I done that, it would have been a mistake. The ladies of The Glow Print and especially my fellow guests didn't want to leave the party. By the end of the event, we were asking when was the next thing they were planning and to please keep us in the loop. I plan to continue to support The Glow Print and help my fellow sisters shine.
